Binnacle is a consulting and coaching practice for product leaders and product organizations. We help executives, founders, and product teams decide what deserves to be built, judge whether what is shipping is any good, and run an organization that can tell the difference.
We are a consultancy, not a delivery agency. We sell judgment: what to build, whether it is good, and how to know.
Binnacle Consulting LLC is a New York limited liability company based in Rochester, New York. Engagements are remote unless agreed otherwise.
Three ways to work with Binnacle. Each is scoped and priced per engagement.
Ongoing counsel to a product executive, founder, or leadership team. A standing block of hours each month for roadmap decisions, hiring calls, board and investor prep, and the hard call on what to cut. Billed monthly in advance.
One-to-one coaching for VPs, directors, and heads of product. Regular sessions over a multi-month engagement, focused on the judgment calls the job actually turns on: what to say no to, how to read a team's work, and how to make a case to the people above you. Billed monthly in advance.
Fixed-scope sessions for a leadership team or product org: a roadmap review, a product-taste review of what has shipped, or a working session on how the team makes decisions. Half-day to two days, remote or on site. Billed as a fixed fee, half on booking and half on delivery.
The terms every Binnacle engagement runs on. A signed statement of work may add to these but does not remove them.
Retainers and coaching may be cancelled by either party with 30 days' written notice; any prepaid month not yet started is refunded in full. Workshops and reviews may be cancelled for a full refund up to 7 days before the session; inside 7 days the deposit is retained and any balance refunded. Hourly advisory is billed for time delivered and is not refundable. Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days. To cancel or request a refund, email hello@binnacle.co.
Services are provided by Binnacle Consulting LLC, a New York limited liability company. Each engagement is defined by a written statement of work covering scope, schedule, and fees. Invoices are due within 15 days. Binnacle provides advice; decisions and their outcomes remain the client's. Each party keeps the other's confidential information confidential. Liability is limited to fees paid for the engagement. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
We collect the name, email address, and message you send through this site, and the billing details needed to invoice you. We use them to respond to you, deliver services, and bill for them. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. We do not sell personal data or share it beyond the providers that run this site, our email, and our payments. Email hello@binnacle.co to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you.
All engagements are quoted individually in writing before work begins. Prices are in US dollars. Retainers are billed monthly in advance; hourly advisory is billed monthly in arrears; workshops and reviews are billed as a fixed fee. Payment by card or bank transfer.
